How to use the Related function in MoneyWorks accounting software?

The Find Related command allows to locate records in other lists that are related in some way to the currently highlighted records. It is a very powerful way of finding out information such as: Who has purchased these products? Who hasn’t purchased these products? What products have been purchased by these customers? What other products have been purchased by customers who purchased these products? What transactions were used to pay these invoices? — MoneyWorks v7 User Guide,

Invoice Reference Number

The default Sales Invoice template, such as the Product Invoice 1, in MoneyWorks prints the Sales Invoice reference number after the Tax Invoice form title. To have the Sales Invoice reference number separated from the form title, you need to break them up into two separate fields. Sample: Tax Invoice 1875 Refer to MoneyWorks version 7 User Guide page G-379 — Forms Designer The Transaction.OurRef in the database is the field used to capture the sales invoice reference number.

How to record a foreign currency loan received?

The Bank, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable account can be set with a foreign currency. Instead of creating the foreign currency loan account as a Current Liability or a Term Liability type of account, which only can be set with a base currency, create it as a bank account type. Change the "Bank Account is" field under the Bank Setting tab of the Bank account to "Term Loan". Although, the "Term Loan" is a Bank account type, it will be shown under the Term Liabilities

MoneyWorks and the Surface Pro

Software, which is not a touch application, may have an issue operate in the Microsoft Surface Pro table. Due to the high resolution of the Microsoft Surface Pro, the icons of the MoneyWorks 7 are too small to hit accurately with your fingertip. Instead of lower the resolution, which may affect the user experience of using a Microsoft Surface Pro, you may consider using a MoneyWorks keyboard shortcut. Almost every button in MoneyWorks can be activated using the keyboard. Exam

Validity Date of Quote

A Validity Date of Quote helps protect the buyer and seller; the price quoted is being locked within an “x” number of days from the quote date. The Due Date in a Quote can be used as a Validity Date. You may add the Due Date field (Transaction.DueDate) by inserting a new Calculation field with the Transaction.DueDate in the Calculation Box; or duplicate both the field label and field data of the Quote Date (Transaction.TransDate), then rename the duplicated field label to “Va

Accounting Period

The year is broken into periods. You normally have 12 periods in your financial year, each one corresponding to a calendar month. However MoneyWorks lets you have anywhere from two to fifteen periods. MoneyWorks Manual, Page 10 — Periods If your financial year starts from January and ends in December, based on 12 financial periods, January is Period 1 and December is Period 12. If you have opted for 13 periods, that is "Twelve Calendar Months Plus End", an additional Period 1

Chinese New Year "Ang Bao"

Most of the Chinese owned company gives "Ang Bao" (red packet) to staffs during Chinese New Year, especially on the first day they resume business after the long Chinese New Year break. Giving "Ang Bao" to staff is a local custom, which most Chinese bosses still practise (as a form of "good luck"). "Ang Bao" is a gift, which is an expense. Assume you took out $500 from your petty cash account and give $50 "Ang Bao" to each of your ten staff. A Payment transaction may be used
